Fly on the wall
Borough Market is situated close to London Bridge Underground Station. It is a very well known market due to the wide variety of high quality, fresh products offered for sale.
At midday from Thursday to Saturday it is packed with tourists and customers. At the same time it is ideal to take good photographs with great contrasts, colours, textures and composition.
In this project I wanted to document this attractive place whilst also drawing attention to all the cultural and artistic aspects, etc. I especially wanted to highlight the work done by people behind the counters, showing the work area, product offerings and also the disposition of each element in the work environment, which says a lot about each place. Every photograph is itself a particular story, rich in elements, objects and details that frame a single overall story behind the counters.
In this project I show the work area of each stall-holder beside the items they offer, enriching the shots with different aspects that make the place look natural and attractive, such as the product itself, the seller and finally the customers.
I chose these photographs because I consider them to have good contrast, texture, colour, and composition; and particularly because each one has a story to tell.
